Daisy Chains was a two-person event held by Linda Zagidulina and myself at Chisenhale Dance Space in July 2023.

I made a 5 metres x 8 metres of wallpaper with a fluorescent flower motif by printing with linocut blocks and acrylic paint on lining paper.

As part of the event, I interacted with the wallpaper by cutting patterns from it and sewing these together into what resembled half formed dresses with limb-like attachments.

I approached this work as a kind of live-sculpture that changed and morphed before me and the viewer through moving-cutting, moving-sewing, moving across and within the sculpture.

All movements and actions were loosely dictated by a score - created with my collaborator - and ceased when a pre-set timer called time.

The actions followed a linear progression, with incremental changes and interventions that eventually remade the sculpture and transformed the space. From a few cuts in the wallpaper, a few elements cut-out and sewn to the wallpaper being reworked and the dance space transformed.
